The WA Jobs Plan included a commitment to fund career taster programs for year 9 students. The purpose of this commitment is to inspire secondary school students about potential career and further study opportunities and assist them in making more informed decisions on their subject selections for year 11 and 12 and post-secondary options.
The Year 9 Career Taster Program (CTP) is being co-led by the Department of Training and Workforce Development and Department of Education. Approximately 17,000 year 9 students are expected to participate in the CTP with delivery initially planned to commence from Term 1 2022 and running for four years.
