Simpler and more streamlined financial reporting for local governments in WA will be phased in from July 1 this year and will be in full effect by the end of the 2022-2023 Financial Year. The changes will make financial reports clearer and easier to understand improving community decision making regarding local government led services and projects.
Standardised templates – or model financial statements – will also be introduced ensuring greater consistency, improving the budgeting and reporting process for local governments and reducing administrative costs.
