The WA Government will offer property owners $5,000 to convert their vacant properties into long-term rental homes. As part of the 2024-2025 State Budget, the new $5 million Vacant Property Rental Incentive Scheme will offer payments to owners who meet the criteria of the property being vacant for the past six months and agreeing to provide a 12-month minimum lease to tenants. Property owners will receive the payment once the dwelling has been leased and occupied. Read more about the conditions to qualify for the incentive in the media statement here.
