The state Government has extended the Apprenticeship and Traineeship Reengagement Incentive (ATRI) through to 30 June 2022. The incentive is available to West Australian employers that employ an apprentice or trainee who was displaced between 1 March 2020 and 30 June 2022 and is listed on the Out of Contract Register.
Designed to maintain the pipeline of skilled workers needed for economic growth, the initiative provides employers with a one-off payment of $6,000 for an apprentice, and $3,000 for a trainee.
