According to the joint media release of Ministers of Employment and Workplace Relations, the Hon Brendan O’Connor MP and Senator the Hon Murray Watt, four Jobs and Skills Councils have been established. In June, three JSCs were established to focus on skills and workforce matters in manufacturing, transport and logistics, and mining and automotive. June media statement here
In May, it was announced that Skills Insight was the first JSC to be fully operational. It was established to support the agribusiness sector by identifying skills and workforce needs, helping to map career pathways, and developing relevant VET training products. Read the May media release here
The remaining six JSCs are in the process of being established and are expected to be operational within weeks.
