The WA Government has allocated $15.8 million for the next four years to fund a new Pilatus PC-24 jet and upgrade the existing PC-12 fleet of aircraft.
The Pilatus PC-24 jet will be the fastest aircraft in the fleet and will enable officers to be deployed anywhere in Western Australia to provide critical support in regional communities.
The aircraft will reduce travel time by approximately half and can land on unsealed airstrips in outback WA. The efficiency will enable specialist police teams from Perth to land in Kununurra, for example, around three hours faster. Read more here.
