The Department of Justice, the Department of Premier and Cabinet, and Treasury are set to evaluate infrastructure and staffing requirements of the State’s Custodial system as an effort to improve safety and welfare at Banksia Hill Detention Centre.
The Western Australian Government has announced that additional Prison Officers will be trained and employed to provide greater security and enable Youth Custodial Officers to focus on rehabilitation, mentoring and the delivery of a new model of care.
