Around half of Year 9 students around WA will get a taste of the world of work and post-school opportunities through the newly launched Year 9 Career Taster Program.
The program will allow students to learn about different industries, current and emerging occupations, career pathways and the skills required for them and help them to make more informed decisions about their subject selections in Years 10, 11 and 12.
Pilot programs have commenced in nine schools, with program delivery commencing in Term 1 2022 and running for four years. Once fully rolled out, the program will be delivered to around 17,000 Year 9 students annually.
