Work-based learning is a key component of vocational education. The many benefits for students include smoother transition into employment, development of both technical and more general employability skills (teamwork, communication, decision-making) and improved employment outcomes.
Advantages for employers include access to ‘work-ready’ recruits, ability to address skills gaps and upskill in the workplace, improved recruitment, retention, staff satisfaction and corporate reputation.
Training Providers also benefit through improved relationships with employers, enhanced student motivation, better informed teaching practices and a more positive reputation.
