Following consultation with stakeholders, Western Australia will join NSW and Victoria by becoming a member of the Legal Profession Uniform Law scheme.
The law reform will simplify regulatory obligations for law firms participating in multiple Australian jurisdictions and create a common market for legal services in NSW, Victoria and WA. The scheme will create a uniform law that covers participating jurisdictions and will offer clients a more consistent experience when engaging in legal services.
The new regulations of lawyers in WA are expected to become effective from July 1 2022.
