New State employment laws which came into effect yesterday (Monday 20 June 2022) will increase protections for workers and modernise the WA industrial relations system. From Monday, Western Australian workers will have access to the WA Industrial Relations Commission (WAIRC) to address claims of workplace bullying and sexual harassment.

The Industrial Relations Legislation Amendment Act 2021 (IRLA Act) included a number of changes to State employment laws. Further information can be found on the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety, Western Australia.
