According to the latest report by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER), Australian apprentice and trainee graduates are now finding jobs at a higher rate than pre-pandemic levels. The NCVER Apprentice and trainee outcomes 2021 report found that 88.4% of traineeship graduates were employed after training, up 3.5 percentage points from 2019.
Employment outcomes improved most for those who trained in electrotechnology and telecommunications, construction, sales, and clerical and administrative occupations, compared with 2019. The improvement in employment outcomes for apprentices and trainees aligns with the increased demand for skilled workers being felt across Australia at this time.
